On behalf of our entire family, we wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for a wonderful Football experience at the Fraser Coast Mini World Cup in Hervey Bay. This was our son's first experience at this event having only started at Toowoomba Grammar school this year. The event was friendly, but competitive and extremely well run. Our son Thomas Brown (U16) looks forward to participating and visiting again next year. Fingers crossed the world gets back to normal and the event continues to thrive.

Just wanted to say all of our Clinton FC teams had an amazing time and learnt a heap out of the Mini world cup last week and are keen to do it again next year. Will the comp be staying in Hervey Bay for next year? Can we nominate U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and open women’s teams for next year’s comp in 2022.

I started my coaching journey on the Sunshine Coast after breaking my leg playing in 2010. My first experience coaching female football was with the Chinchilla Honeybears in 2017 which is where my love for female football really began. I went on to have three very successful seasons with the Honeybears where we qualified for the Premier League Finals for the first time in the Clubs history in my first season and then repeated that in 2018. In 2019 while coaching the Honeybears my Journey began with the SWQ Thunder NPLW. Initially I came in as I guess a trainee where I was able to learn from experienced Senior Coaches Craig Lockwood and Wayne Richardson. In 2020 I was able to have my first experience in NPLW with the Thunder U18 Female side and Assistant for the Senior Women where I again learned a lot from Senior Coach David Park-Ballay. Although it was an extremely tough year it only ignited the fire to be successful with SWQ Thunder. In 2021 i have taken on a lot as a coach and some would say too much. However, I would not change a thing from this year. I was able to have the pleasure of Coaching the U23 Female SWQ Thunder side as well Assistant for the Senior Women. But also coach the wonderfully talented U16 Thunder side and assist with their transition to the Senior setup at the Thunder. Although they are young footballers they have displayed an unbelievable desire t improve and the week we spent at the Joeys Mini World Cup Highlighted the improvement these young girls have made. Mixed with 3 older players aged 18, 21 and 32 these young girls aged from 14-16 showed courage, determination and fantastic football ability to come through the tournament undefeated. I am extremely proud and excited to be heading to Germany with these girls and can’t wait to coach against and learn from some of the best youth coaches in Europe.

Hey guys just like to say thank you on an awesome week so far. The people running the carnival thank you for putting in the time and effort to make sure that things are actually happening. Being part of a committee myself I know how hard it is. This is our first time coming to the carnival and we will be back.

2019 Tournament

We have just returned home to Toowoomba from Hervey Bay and what has been my sixth Mini World Cup. Until this year I had not received any monetary prizes for playing but this had never spoiled my enjoyment of the carnival and it has become an event I look forward to every year. The organisation and effort that must go into creating such an event must be staggering and I hope you understand that everyone I know who participates, enjoys every minute of it and appreciates the work you must do.
This year I have had the amazing honour of receiving the U17 best field player prize. This took me completely by surprise and I am humbled by the recognition.

My many thanks for the efforts and work you put into the week of the MWC at Hervey Bay.
I believe that this was one of the best run and most successful MWC’s in its history. I am sure our school and all 160 players will be back in 2019.
Please pass on my thanks to Hervey Bay Football Association/the people who run the canteen and those people who behind the scenes who toiled all week.
A major thanks to the referees and their efforts during the week. This is often a thankless task yet these refs deserve our greatest appreciation.
Chris and I have spoken about many of points and I feel that there is great scope to continue to fine tune such a wonderful event.
Again, thanks to you all and best wishes for 2019.
